These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the myScripture website located at myscripture.app, the myScripture web application located at app.myscripture.app, and any related pages, applications, features, content, and services we provide (collectively, the "Service").
In these Terms, "myScripture," "we," "us," and "our" mean myScripture.
Terms Summary

- Premium features may include paid subscriptions and related billing terms.

1. Eligibility
You may use the Service only if you are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement under applicable law and are not prohibited from using the Service under applicable law.
The Service is not directed to children under 13. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.
2. Your Account
To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete registration information and to keep it updated.
You are responsible for:
- maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- all activity that occurs under your account
- promptly notifying us of any unauthorized use of your account
We are not responsible for losses caused by unauthorized access resulting from your failure to safeguard your account credentials.
3. The Service
myScripture provides tools for capturing, organizing, reflecting on, and sharing sermon notes, Bible study notes, prayers, and related content. Certain features may be available only to premium users or paid subscribers.
We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, including features, functionality, integrations, or availability, without liability to you.
4. Premium Features and Subscriptions
Certain features of the Service may require payment, including premium features and subscription plans. Subscription plans may be offered on a monthly or yearly basis. Payment processing may be handled by third-party providers such as Stripe.
By purchasing a subscription or paid feature, you agree to provide accurate billing and payment information and authorize the applicable payment provider to process the charges associated with your purchase.
Unless otherwise required by law, all payments are final and non-refundable.
We may change pricing, subscription fees, or paid feature offerings at any time. Any such changes will apply prospectively and will not retroactively affect fees already paid.
Additional billing and payment-related terms may be set out separately in a dedicated Subscription Terms or checkout flow, and those additional terms will also apply where relevant.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the Service. You must not:
- violate any applicable law or regulation
- infringe the rights of others
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, system, or data
- interfere with or disrupt the Service or related infrastructure
- upload, transmit, or distribute malware, viruses, malicious code, or harmful material
- test, probe, or scan the vulnerability of the Service without authorization
- use the Service for fraud, deception, spam, or unlawful conduct
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation
- use automated means to scrape, harvest, or extract data from the Service without authorization
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service except where such restrictions are prohibited by law
We may investigate suspected misuse and take any action we consider appropriate, including suspension, restriction, removal of content, or termination of accounts.
6. Your Content
You retain ownership of the content you create, upload, import, store, or submit through the Service ("Your Content"), including notes, prayers, images, and related materials.
You grant myScripture a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, and display Your Content solely as necessary to:
- provide and operate the Service
- enable syncing, storage, organization, and search
- support note sharing at your direction
- provide premium and AI-powered features you choose to use
- maintain backups, security, and reliability
- comply with legal obligations
- improve and maintain the Service's core functionality
This license ends when Your Content is deleted from the Service, except to the extent we need to retain limited copies for backups, technical operations, legal compliance, or security purposes.
7. Content Rules and Responsibility
You are solely responsible for Your Content and for the consequences of uploading, storing, importing, or sharing it.
You represent and warrant that:
- Your Content is your own, or you have all rights necessary to use it through the Service
- you will upload only your own notes and content
- Your Content does not violate any law or third-party right, including copyright, privacy, or publicity rights
- Your Content does not contain malicious code or unlawful material
You must not use the Service to upload or share content that is unlawful, infringing, abusive, defamatory, fraudulent, or otherwise harmful.
You should not share confidential, private, or sensitive personal information through shared-note links unless you fully understand and accept the consequences of doing so.
8. Shared Content
The Service may allow you to share notes by link. If you choose to share content, you understand that anyone with the link may be able to view that content.
If you choose anonymous sharing, we will not intentionally display your identity to viewers through the shared-note experience. However, you remain solely responsible for the content you choose to share.
We reserve the right to remove, disable, or restrict access to shared content or shared links if we believe the content violates these Terms, applicable law, or the rights or safety of any person or entity.
9. AI Features
The Service may offer AI-powered features, including summarization, tag suggestions, sermon insights, translation, and note import assistance.
By using AI-powered features, you instruct us to process and transmit relevant content to third-party providers, including OpenAI, for the purpose of generating the requested output.
You acknowledge and agree that:
- AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate
- AI-generated content is provided for convenience only
- you are responsible for reviewing and evaluating AI-generated output before using or relying on it
- myScripture does not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, doctrinal correctness, or suitability of AI-generated output for any purpose
AI features are not a substitute for personal study, discernment, pastoral guidance, legal advice, medical advice, or other professional advice.
10. Commercial Use
Commercial and organizational use of the Service is permitted, including use by churches, ministries, teams, and other organizations, provided such use complies with these Terms and all applicable laws.
11. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, interface, branding, logos, text, graphics, and other materials provided by myScripture, is owned by or licensed to myScripture and is protected by intellectual property and other applicable laws.
Except as expressly permitted by these Terms, you may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, or exploit any part of the Service without prior written permission from myScripture.
12. Feedback
If you provide suggestions, ideas, or feedback regarding the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use, modify, and incorporate that feedback for any lawful purpose without compensation to you.
13. Third-Party Services
The Service may rely on or integrate with third-party services, including Supabase, Google, OpenAI, Stripe, hosting providers, analytics providers, and infrastructure providers.
We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, availability, or policies of third-party services, except where required by law.
14. Service Availability
We aim to provide a reliable Service, but we do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
The Service may experience outages, maintenance periods, delays, data loss, or other technical issues. We may add, remove, or change features at any time without prior notice.
15. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
myScripture disclaims all warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, availability, security, and accuracy.
Without limiting the foregoing, we do not warrant that:
- the Service will meet your expectations or requirements
- the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
- content will never be lost or corrupted
- defects will be corrected
- AI-generated outputs will be accurate, reliable, or suitable
16. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, myScripture and its operators, affiliates, licensors, service providers, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, content, or business opportunity arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the total liability of myScripture for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of:
- the amount you paid to myScripture in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or
- JPY 10,000
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability to the extent such exclusion or limitation is not permitted by applicable law.
17. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless myScripture and its operators, affiliates, service providers, and partners from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or related to:
- Your Content
- your use of the Service
- your violation of these Terms
- your violation of any law or third-party right
18. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if:
- you violate these Terms
- we believe your use poses a risk to the Service, other users, or third parties
- we are required to do so by law
- we discontinue the Service or part of it
You may stop using the Service at any time. At present, account deletion requests must be submitted by email to help@myscripture.app.
19. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Japan.
20. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the Service, by email, or by updating the effective date above.
By continuing to use the Service after revised Terms become effective, you agree to the updated Terms to the extent permitted by law.
