Please note that anyone who obtains the share link may be able to access the shared note.

4. AI Features

When you use AI-powered features, relevant content that you submit may be sent to our AI service provider, currently OpenAI, in order to generate the requested result.

We use AI-related processing for feature functionality such as summarization, tag suggestions, sermon insights, translation, and import assistance. We do not use your content to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell your private note content.

We do not intentionally use your content to train our own AI models. AI-related content is processed to provide the requested feature. Third-party providers that process such content do so under their own terms, service settings, and applicable legal obligations.

Because AI outputs are generated automatically, they may sometimes be inaccurate or incomplete. You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated results before relying on them.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information or private note content.

We may share information in the following circumstances:

These providers may process information on our behalf or as necessary to provide their services.

B. Shared-by-Link Content

If you choose to share a note, the content of that note becomes accessible to anyone with the share link. If you choose anonymous sharing, your name is not shown to the viewer through that shared experience.

C. Legal and Safety Reasons

We may disclose information if we believe doing so is reasonably necessary to:

  • comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
  • enforce our agreements and policies
  • detect, investigate, or prevent fraud, abuse, or security issues
  • protect the rights, property, or safety of myScripture, our users, or others

D. Business Transfers

If myScripture is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.

6. Third-Party Services

The Service may rely on or integrate with third-party services. Those third parties may have their own privacy policies and terms governing how they process data. We encourage you to review the privacy notices of any third-party services you use in connection with myScripture.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain account functionality, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations.

If you request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at help@myscripture.app, we aim to process deletion requests within 5 business days.

Please note:

  • deleted data may remain in secure backups for up to 30 days

  • retained backup data is kept primarily for disaster recovery, security, and system integrity purposes

8. Account Deletion

At this time, account deletion requests must be submitted by email to help@myscripture.app.

When processing a deletion request, we may verify your identity before taking action. Once deletion is completed, some information may remain in backup systems for the limited period described above.

9. International Data Transfers

myScripture is based in Japan, but the Service may use infrastructure and service providers located in other countries. As a result, your information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in jurisdictions outside your country of residence.

By using the Service, you understand that your information may be processed internationally, subject to appropriate operational and contractual safeguards where applicable.

  • encryption in transit using HTTPS
  • access controls
  • environment-level security practices
  • monitoring and logging
  • infrastructure safeguards designed to reduce unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration

However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children's Privacy

myScripture is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate authorization where required by law.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, please contact us at help@myscripture.app, and we will take appropriate steps to review and address the matter.

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, which may include the right to:

  • access certain information we hold about you
  • request correction of inaccurate information
  • request deletion of your account and associated data
  • object to or restrict certain processing where applicable

If premium subscriptions or paid features are made available, payment processing may be provided by Stripe or other payment providers we designate. Payment-related personal information will be handled in accordance with those providers' privacy practices and contractual terms.

Subscription status, billing metadata, and related transaction records may be processed by us as necessary to manage premium access, customer support, fraud prevention, bookkeeping, and legal compliance.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the Service, by email, or by updating the effective date above.

Your continued use of the Service after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective constitutes your acknowledgment of the revised policy, to the extent permitted by law.
